Q:Have you considered reviving old teams like West Coast Avengers/Force Works? I feel like that series had potential until The Crossing forced its cancellation. Except for Century because Century sucked but other than that, I liked the first 15 issues.

Every once in a while the notion of reviving WEST COAST AVENGERS comes up. The problem I always run into with it is that the concept of WCA was, let’s face it, a little bit dumb. There’s nothing wrong with an Avengers team being set up on the west coast, but by making that a part of the concept, you immediately invite questions: do they only fight menaces in that half of the nation? How is it that the Avengers are global, but they are “West Coast”? And so on.

There’s some nostalgia for that name, because it was around for so long, but I’m happier doing things like MIGHTY AVENGERS that don’t limit the scale or the scope of the adventures.

Plus, FORCE WORKS is the worst team name in comics since the classic days of the VIOLENCE LEAGUE OF EFFECTIVENESS.
